Research Positions

The Foot & Ankle Research and Innovation Laboratory is a multidisciplinary platform for innovation, research and education, and serves as a unique environment were clinicians, researchers, and engineers work together and share their expertise. This stimulates high-quality, clinically-relevant research. FARIL researchers get the opportunity to do clinical and biomechanical research, gain experience with the fundraising process, and will likely co-author published research. Research opportunities are available across our areas of expertise mentioned above.

We offer three academic positions/classifications:

1. Research Internship position for at least 12 weeks (part-time or full time) (unpaid)

Qualifications:

  • Undergraduate/Graduate/Medical student enrolled in accredited program
  • US Citizen
  • Biostatistics familiarity
  • Programming and coding skills are preferred
  • Being able to work onsite is preferred

2. One- or Two-year International Research Fellow position (unpaid*)

Qualifications:

  • MD (with clinical orthopedic experience)
  • Enrolled in a PhD or post-doc program is preferred
  • Excellent proficiency of the English language
  • At least 3 peer-reviewed publications as first author**
  • Biostatistics familiarity
  • Programming and coding skills are preferred
  • Need to have two letters of support from previous/current supervisors

* Funds might be provided if the projects receive financial support per the US national and our institutional rules.
** This condition might vary per the applicant’s resume and qualifications.

3. Research Fellow or Post-Doc position for at least 2.5 years (Fully or partially funded; project-based due to funding requirements)

Qualifications:

  • MD or MD-PhD
  • US Citizen or permanent resident
  • At least 5 peer-reviewed publications as first author*
  • Solid knowledge on biostatistics
  • Aims for a long-term career in academic medicine and/or an appointment at Harvard Medical School
  • Programming and coding skills are preferred
  • Need to have two letters of support from previous/current supervisors
